TAP members are very concerned that someone has produced a new website, 'www.tapvotersblock.com', which pretends to be associated with TAP Into A Better Tasmania and its Voters Block. The 'www.tapvotersblock.com' site does not belong to TAP Into A Better Tasmania. It belongs to some unknown person who appears to be waging a private campaign using TAP's name and TAP's Voters Block.
- The name "Archer Sims" is connected to the site but "Archer Sims" is not a member of TAP.
- Comments sent to the site's email tapvotersblock@gmail.com are read by "Archer Sims", not TAP.
- The site asks for donations but any money that readers send goes to "Archer Sims", not TAP.
The official site for TAP Into A Better Tasmania and the Voters Block is www.tapvision.info.
Donations used to advertise the renegade site featuring the names of candidates could breach Section 311 of the LG Act.
The Coordinating Committee of TAP is concerned not with the list of candidate names, but that this renegade site exposes candidates to a potential legal challenge. The Committee is also concerned not only that the public is being hoodwinked but that TAP's credibility is seriously threatened because of this deception.
