WEST TAMAR COUNCILLORS VOTING ON PULP-MILL PIPELINE TUESDAY 21 OCTOBER

As suggested by TAP, I emailed the list of West Tamar councillors in regard to the "vote" tomorrow about allowing the Gunns puke mill pipeline acess through council land.

See below:

"Councillors..... Like the vast majority of ratepayers in this electorate, I am fed up with the council pushing its own private agenda, rather than representing and acting on the wishes of the majority of rate payers.

In regard to the Pulpmill pipeline vote, where is the public consultation that is supposed to occur before the council votes on it???? West Tamar council (after great ratepayer outcry) voted NOT to support the pulpmill. Why therefore are you now voting on puplmill pipeline access through council land??? THE RATE PAYERS DO NOT WANT THIS MILL, NOR TO PROVIDE ACCESS THAT IT MAY NEED!!!

Can the council, just once, represent the majority of ratepayers? VOTE NO TO THE PIPELINE

Regards XXXXX "

I received a reply from Rick Shegog in regard to the above. While I'm not overly confident about Ricks stance......to my mind it is a black & white issue....(you either support the access or you support the ratepayer majority), I will acknowledge his communication.

Would be good if other councillors took the electorate seriously!
