Gunns want to route their pulp mill pipeline through one of the most densely populated parts of the West Tamar municipality including over West Tamar Council (WTC) owned land.
A majority of WTC ratepayers oppose Gunns planned pulp mill. In addition, the Council passed a unanimous vote of no confidence in the pulp mill assessment, and 8 other motions expressing their concerns on issues related the mill.
Yet it appears that there are secret deals being done between the Council and Gunns.
Show the Council that you care about the Tamar Valley. Take your opportunity at the Council meeting to say NO to the pipeline and keep the Council honest.
Homes damaged by water from the pipeline may not be able to seek compensation under section 11 of the Pulp Mill Assessment Act.
Where: West Tamar Council offices, Eden St, Riverside.
When: 1.30pm Tuesday August 19.
