Environment Tasmania Inc. (ET) invites you to participate in this vital public forum.
ET is facilitating a program of public forums which aim to de-mystify environmental issues, allow space for a range of perspectives to be publicly detailed, and, most crucially, provide the public with an opportunity to explore key issues and interact with key stakeholders.
This new forum follows on from the successful 'Forests and Climate Change - Issues in a Tasmanian Context' forum that was held in Hobart.
The host for the upcoming Pulp Mill and Climate Change forum is Dr. Pete Hay from the University of Tasmania and the speakers include:
Speakers:
- Calton Frame, Gunns Ltd;
- Lesley Nicklason, The Climate Project / Friends of the Blue Tier;
- Dr Hans Drielsma, Forestry Tasmania;
- Vica Bayley, The Wilderness Society;
- Dr Fred Gale, UTAS School of Government.
Representatives from the state and federal government climate change offices were invited to participate but declined.
There will be 5 minutes question time in between each speaker and 25 - 35 minutes of open question time at the end of the presentations.
Where: Tailrace Centre, 1 Waterfront Dr, Riverside, Launceston. Just off the West Tamar Highway near the Trevallyn Power Station.
When: 6.30pm - 8.30pm Wednesday 20th August 2008.
More information: please contact the ET office on environmenttasmania@gmail.com - or phone 03 6224 6319.
Environment Tasmania is Tasmania's peak environment body, representing the interests of over 20 community and environment groups and over 5000 Tasmanians.
