Gunns want to route their pulp mill pipeline through one of the most densely populated parts of the West Tamar municipality including over West Tamar Council (WTC) owned land.

A majority of WTC ratepayers oppose Gunns planned pulp mill. In addition, the Council passed a unanimous vote of no confidence in the pulp mill assessment, and 8 other motions expressing their concerns on issues related the mill. The Council is under no obligation to sell or give away land to a private business (Gunns).

Yet it appears that there are secret deals being done between the Council and Gunns.

Homes damaged by water from the pipeline may not be able to seek compensation under section 11 of the Pulp Mill Assessment Act.

Show the Council that you care about the Tamar Valley.  Join with hundreds of others to say NO to the pipeline and keep the Council honest.

Where: West Tamar Council offices, Eden St, Riverside.

When: 2-3pm Friday August 15th.

Also at the West Tamar Council Meeting at the Council offices in Riverside at 1.30pm Tuesday August 19.

Download the flyer (below) which explains how local residents can be seriously impacted and how the West Tamar Council is failing to  protect their interests.
