When: The Freedom Ride scheduled for November 25th has been postponed for the time being. Thank you to the many hundreds who were ready to take part. Please look out for an announcement of a new date.
Where: Meet at Batman Bridge camp ground on the east side of the bridge with your car at a time to be notified.
What: From there a stately procession of cars will travel, at a speed to be notified, to the East Tamar Highway and head towards Georgetown, around the Comalco round-about and back to the Batman Bridge camp ground. The circuit will then be repeated. Finish at the Batman Bridge.
Why: To demonstrate that the Tamar valley belongs to the people. We do not want tens of millions of our money used to "upgrade" the East Tamar Highway for Gunns, turning it into more of a log-truck speedway than it already is.
Register now: Register now. You must register your readiness to participate with your car by preferably emailing tapcontact@gmail.com or by phoning 6394 4225 and leave a message with your name and mobile phone number. Closing date for registrations is Tuesday November 20th.
Tell others and invite your friends, neighbours, family and fellow travellers to participate.
