Gunns want to route their pulp mill pipeline through one of the most densely populated parts of the West Tamar municipality including over West Tamar Council (WTC) owned land.A majority of WTC ratepayers oppose Gunns planned pulp mill. In addition, the Council passed a unanimous vote of no confidence in the pulp mill assessment, and 8 other motions expressing their concerns on issues related the mill. The Council is under no obligation to sell or give away land to a private business (Gunns).
